Saturday marks fifty years to the day since the first match was played at Millbrae and Ayr will be hoping their BT Premiership fixture with Edinburgh Accies will continue the fine tradition of exciting rugby at the home of the men in pink and black.
After a six-try victory away to Stirling County last weekend for the home team and a very narrow loss to Heriot's for the visitors, it could very well be a lively contest.
"Last week, we played some of our best attacking rugby so far this season," says Ayr head coach Calum Forrester. "But we are still conceding too many points and we know that we will have to improve our defensive display against Accies."
It won't be an easy task with twenty players in the senior squad out injured. However, the first and second XVs, as well as Millbrae RFC, are all still able to field teams this weekend.
Glasgow Warriors have released Connor Braid and Dougie Hall to play at outside centre and hooker respectively. Braid takes last week's hat-trick hero Richard Dalgleish's place and he moves to the wing to take over from an injured Kerr Gossman.
Ben Johnston gets his first start at openside flanker and Graham Williamson partners Scott Sutherland in the second row. Sylvain Diez was a late call-up last weekend and keeps the stand-off berth.
